Personal Injury

Dealing with an insurance company can be difficult and time consuming. Insurance companies will often encourage you to settle for less than you may be entitled to, or claim that your injury falls under the Minor Injury Cap when it may not. If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, you should contact James for a free review of your matter.

About James

James Violande is a co-founder of Fitch Violande Barristers and Solicitors, located at 203-5571 Cunard Street, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

James grew up in Glace Bay and spent most of his summer at his grandparents’ cottage on the Mira River. He attended Cape Breton University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration.

After his graduation, James moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he worked as a consultant in the financial sector and as a training coordinator in the construction sector. Before too long, James realized he did not want to spend a significant part of his life away from his family and friends, and moved back home to Nova Scotia to study law at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law. After law school James articled with a small firm in Glace Bay before relocating back to Halifax to be closer to his partner, Katelyn.

James has a general law practice but particularly enjoys helping people with matters relating to criminal law, family law, personal injury law, and property law.
